Wichita Kansas is home to the country’s most ‘Stubbornly Independent’ film festival. Founded by Timothy Gruver in 2002 it was originally called the Wichita Association for Motion Picture Arts. In October of 2003, Wichita officially celebrated its first annual Tallgrass Film Festival.
Since then, this Stubbornly Independent festival has become the centerpiece of Wichita’s fall event calendar. Tallgrass Film Association not only boasts an amazing October film lineup but Tallgrass is a year-round traveling, film affair. Hosting quite an impressive schedule of activities expanding throughout the rest of the year with year-round screenings, educational workshops, and a very popular traveling road show.
The Stubbornly Independent Film Association is back with its 11th annual Film Festival which kicks off October 16th, and last through the 20th.
