Strange thing, New Hampshire

New Hampshire loves the great outdoors and what better way to travel then R.V.?  During a natural disaster that suddenly upsets the ordinary order of things for months at a time; recreational vehicles are the way to go!  At least, 3/4 of us could get out of harm's way if social unrest erupts.  A self-contained Utopia on four wheels.The quality of life in New Hampshire is superb in comparison to the rest of the nation.  Housing is cheap, just look at this fix-er-upper!  More importantly, winter can be severe!  Making all residents in this lovely state hard and coarse and better able to survive any disaster.A man's or woman's castle is their home?  Yes, indeed and in New Hampshire we use that liberty to it's fullest potential.  The Granite state has the one of the least restrictive gun laws in the United States.  Meaning?  No permit needed to openly carry a gun and permits shall be issued on a concealed weapon.  Just be sure of who your neighbors are and hope they don't carry a grudge!View the list ยป

When it comes to preparedness, avoidance of doomsday, dawdling the end of the world: New Hampshire is the place to be.

Why do many of us stay in this two season state, mud or snow? The reasons are simple but must not be shared with our neighboring state to the south.

  • A man's or woman's castle is their home?  Yes, indeed and in New Hampshire we use that liberty to it's fullest potential.  The Granite state has the one of the least restrictive gun laws in the United States.  Meaning?  No permit needed to openly carry a gun and permits shall be issued on a concealed weapon.  Just be sure of who your neighbors are and hope they don't carry a grudge!

  • On occasion, New Hampshirites encounter a bump in the night.  Typically a low reading earthquake.  As most homes in this state are well over the age of 30; a major of homes, therefore, are constructed of mortar, wood, earth and plaster.  Little not well known fact:  Houses made of tradional and flexiable materials are better able to withstand the impact of a quake.  Go figure?
  • All taxing a side, New Hampshire ranks very low in the nation, as far as, federal funding.  We tend to not bother Uncle Sam and focus more on taxing our middle class.  And, of course, as everyone in Massachusetts knows, there is no sales tax.  Hence, the 'by the side of the road state run liquor stores'.
  • Let's face it, the highways will be clogged with manic hell bent on mayhem drivers during the End of the World.  Certainly there will be not time for a seatbelt, abiding by the speed limits or purchasing car insurance.  That being the case: New Hampshire does not have a mandatory seatbelt law for adults, will soon be upping the speed limit to 75 on all major highways and does not require you to have car insurance.
  • New Hampshire's prisons are often a diagram by which other jails are based.  Our crime rate is low, therefore, our inmate population is fairly low.  There are very few high profile crimes in the Granite state but if you honestly believe doomsday is in your future, listen to this:A prison or county jail maybe the safest place to seek refuge during an all out emergency.  It is a self-contained city with an armed force already on hand.  The buildings are equipped with generators, back water supply and food to feed the masses. As far as, places to be when the last bell has tolled, perhaps, a stint at the county farm isn't such a bad idea.
