Splendid splurge: Little Twig and Sparrow pajamas review

Cold weather will arrive before you know it, and kids love having soft and warm pajamas during the winter months. Some children even feel cold at night during the summer with the air conditioning on.

Little Twig and Sparrow provided me with sample pairs of their incredibly comfortable children's pajamas in return for my honest review, and my 10-year-old tester has worn them every night since receiving them.

Soft and warm

The Little Twig and Sparrow PJs feature amazingly soft Peruvian Pima cotton fabric that's warm and snuggly but not overly thick so as not to feel bulky. Kids love running around in their PJs, and Little Twig and Sparrow's jammies seem sturdy enough to hold up to both playtime and sleepy time.

I foresee my tester wanting to wear these jammies as both nightclothes and daytime long underwear when the weather chills. They wash extremely well, maintaining their softness and resisting the balls common to cotton knit fabrics. She insists on wearing long underwear tops and bottoms, day and night, for the duration of winter.

Our usual brands of long johns end up stained, torn or balled before the chilly weather ends, and we don't even live in a terribly cold climate. Our cold weather lasts from around December through February. Little Twig and Sparrow pajamas would be ideal for keeping kids warm under their clothing, especially when waiting for a school bus or playing in the snow.

These PJs work great for sleepovers and slumber parties, since they take up very little space - they even come with their own case. Plus, their quality workmanship makes sure you don't send your kid to someone else's house with ratty pajamas that looked just fine the last time they were worn.

Little Twig and Sparrow jammies cost about $40 online and come in a variety of colors suitable for any child's taste. Sizes start at 11 months and go up to a child's size 10. I usually write about finding great deals, but sometimes a product is worth breaking the rules for.
