The Warner Bros. adventure 'Gravity' debuted this weekend with $55.55 million in North American ticket sales, according to studio estimates Sunday - the biggest October opening ever and the biggest openings for Bullock and Clooney beating Bullock’s $39.1 million start for this summer’s The Heat and Clooney’s $42.9 million debut for Batman & Robin in 1997. The film also dominated the international box office, adding another $27.4 million overseas.
