Astbury said that his interest in performing arts began early. He became actively involved in singing and acting in a variety of productions. Just how young were you?
"My interest in music began when I was six years old. I have always had a passion for performing and producing creative ideas. My early years were heavily influenced by my father, Graham, who performed in many bands, and it was my father's influence that gave me the inspiration to perform."
Astbury, out of the UK, has been quite busy lately, and he owes much of his success to his fans. One of the ways he began his music career was being part of a British reality television show. Si, what was the show?
"My television debut was on 'Pop Idol' (2001). I also performed and had an interview with ITV (a commercial public service TV network in the United Kingdom). I want everyone to know too, that our fans are an inspiration!"
I understand your many projects are helping others in a variety of ways, especially your song "Hope" and the upcoming music festival. What are some of the details of these projects?
"Our goal is to help in many areas. My music 'Hope' will hopefully do that. The areas that we are helping in can be found at Cancer Research UK, Hope Music and Soundblitz Records on Facebook. I wrote the charity song 'Hope'. Evan Hendry is another musician who is part of this project. The festival is called 2015 World Tribute Fest."
Astbury's "Hope" was originally released March 7, 2014. His involvement with the music festival includes Glencoe Event Management. Can you tell us more about the song?
"We've been on American Radio Station 'Rocks Medicine Show.' Our Song 'Hope' was heard on Live 365. 'Hope' is also an online shuffle/random music on Live 365 Internet Radio on 'Dr. Rock's Medicine Show Live 365!' All Proceeds of the song will go to charities."
Will any of your projects involve travel?
"Yes, I will be traveling to the United States, I think in 2015. There I will perform in NYC. I've also been asked to host a special musical event as well. I've really wanted to share my talent, so I also decided to create and perform in various local acts touring across the UK, Wales and Scotland. I also keep busy as the presenter of 'In the Spotlight.'"
In addition to being a singer-songwriter, Si Astbury is also a TV host. He resides in Burton on Trent where he presents talent on Burton TV News' "In The Spotlight." Fans look forward to more of Si Astbury with his music, TV hosting, travels, hosting and performing at a music festival, plus more! Thanks Si.
