On Thursday, April 17, 2014, the Shades of Success event will be held at The Rosewood Crescent Club to honor some of Dallas' successful women in publishing, broadcasting, fashion, radio, business and many other professions. The focus this year will bring awareness to abused women-an outstanding opportunity for women to embrace, educate and empower other women through their success.
There will be a luncheon, a private fashion runway show by designer Linda Rowe Thomas of Romas and a live performance by motivational speaker, LeTicia Calhoun-Smith. Guest speaker for the event is Renee Hornbuckle of Renee Hornbuckle ministries. There will also be a silent auction for a celebrity chef for a day with Chef Meshelle and a one year complimentary gift of lashes from 2Q Salon. Guests that RSVP for the luncheon will receive a gift bag from sponsors: Lush, Mary Kay and Jewel Heir. Proceeds from the event will go to benefit Women Called Moses, an outreach organization focused on saving victims of domestic violence.
Shades of Success, one may assume is related to skin color. Contrarily, the foundation sets aside color disparities and promotes the many, varying shades of success. Accomplishing goals, overcoming obstacles and coming out on top is the true definition of success-it isn't limited to socioeconomic status or background. Every woman has a story to tell about what motivated them to set their goals and strive to meet their own personal successes.
