September is a busy festival month in the Pacific Northwest. The kids are back in school, ferry lines have dwindled and there are plenty of ways to welcome autumn -- which officially begins on September 22, 2013. The Washington State Fair opened in Puyallup on September 6, and this weekend sunshine has returned for the Mukilteo Lighthouse Festival and Port Townsend's Wooden Boat Festival.
