Another day, another edition of SCN. Today was certainly full with horror news. Insidious Chapter 3 is getting underway; plus Goosebumps has more images to feature and Jessebelle will be hitting theaters in November (wait that was yesterday). So there is a lot of news on upcoming horror films, but that is not to say that there are not stories on blockbusters. There was also an update on the upcoming Mad Max: Fury Road, and the latest from The Hunger Games: Mocingjay Part 1. All of this, and a little more, on the next SCN.

Insidious Chapter 3 starts production with new image and plot details.
The Insidious series seems to be on a role. The next installment in the horror franchise, Insidious Chapter 3, is getting ready for its 2015 release and has already started production. With the news of Insidious Chapter 3 getting started is the first image for the film. The new pic features director Leigh Wannell talking with the actors of the film; which includes one new character and three reprising roles. The new story also reveals that this upcoming installment is actually take place before the events of the first film. With new horror films using this idea, this plot detail is not that shocking. Hopefully, the concept and production for this scary movie pays off. Insidious Chapter 3 hits theaters on May 23, 2015.
Guillermo Del Toro gives minor update on Pacific Rim 2
Since the announcement of Pacific Rim 2, moviegoers have been dying to know more about the upcoming film. Shocktilyoudrop managed to sit down with the director and talk about his upcoming projects; and . fortunately Pacific Rim 2 was brought up. Guillermo Del Toro answered several questions on the film, but one that certainly stood were early details on the upcoming sequel. Del Toro mention that moviegoers will be seeing more of the alien world, but that does not mean it will be a human invasion. We will just have to see what else is in store for this anticipated sequel. Pacific Rim 2 hits theaters on April 7, 2017.
New images for Mad Max: Fury Road
With Comic-Con starting up this week, there are bound to be several films showcased at the event; and one of these anticipated blockbusters is the next installment to the Mad Max franchise: Mad Max Fury Road . The upcoming film sees Tom Hardy take up the role of Max as he goes within a barren desert and deals a harden woman with a cybernetic arm; not to mention a horde of riders looking to kill Max. Warner Bros. has released two new images for the film. One features Tom Hardy as Max while the other has an entourage of vehicles riding through the desert, Both images look down and dirty; then again, that is the point of Mad Max. Mad Max: Fury Road hits theater on May 15, 2015.
Goosebump features new images on spooky characters.
The books of RL Stein come to life as Goosebumps will be heading to the big screen next August; with Jack Black playing the acclaimed author. The movie has been getting a lot of publicity in the past few days and today is no exception as USA Today has revealed new images for the upcoming film. The new pics feature some of the terrifying characters created by RL Stein. One in particular is the possessd dummy named Slappy, who readers are certain to remember from their nightmares. Needless to say, while some fans may find choices about this movie questionable, there is a chance that this upcoming film could bring a sense of nostalgia for several moviegoers. Chloe Grace Moretz struggles with life and death in new trailer to If I Stay
Chloe Grace Moretz seems to be everywhere these days. If she is not taking names as Hit Girl in Kick-Ass, then she seems to be finding herself in a dramas such as If I Stay. The film sees the young actress play Mia, a young violinist who finds true love and is ready to take on life. Unfortunately that might be easier said then done after a fatal accident leaves her in a coma and Mia has to decides if she wants to live or die. To show off the emotion of the film a new trailer has hit the web and certainly shows that moviegoers are in for a dramatic. Will it be a film to remember this year? Edgar Wright heads to Baby Driver
While Edgar Wright is no longer a part of Ant-Man, it seems that The Cornetto trilogy director will be keeping himself busy. In a new report today, Wright’s next project is a spin crime films called Baby Driver. This was actually a project Wright started in 2008, but had to put it on hold due to his work on The World’s End. Now, with no superhero film to deal with, Wright has all the time in the world to work on this delayed film. How the film will play out is anyone guess; though it would not be shocking to see Simon Pegg and Nick Frost involved. Stay tune for more details on the Baby Driver.
Tornadoes attacks on new clip of Into the Storm
Coming this August is the latest disaster film: Into the Storm. This upcoming film features The Hobbit’s Richard Armitage and Walking Dead alumni Sarah Wayne Callies as they take on the elements in this thriller. The film released a new clip today featuring storm chasers recording a tornado forming in the town. Things get bad when the twisters starts destroying the town and Richard Armitage and his son have to run for safety. All and all, this clip looks to be just a taste of what we will see in a few weeks. Into the Storm hits theaters on August 8th.
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 features live portraits of Peeta and Johanna
Yet another message from the Capitol. Rather then having another video from President Snow, The Capitol features portraits of their victors in a Hogwarts esque manner. Now online are two motion images of Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) and Johanna (Jena Malone) as the two are the poster children for the Capital's new campaign. It is just another way to show that The Capital is for a A Panem United, but moviegoers know better. To see the live portraits in action, head here.
