There is no doubt people love upgrading stuff to make their characters more powerful. We, as people, love to see our hard work come to fruition and RPG elements is the way to go. Being able to use new weapons and new skills after you defeat a horde of werewolves is incredibly satisfying. While RPG elements are making their way into games those are not really RPGs (Like Mass Effect 3) Sang-Froid: Tales of Werewolves has a delight way of executing these mechanics.You will play as one of the two O’Carroll brothers to protect your home and sister from the evil monsters of the Devil, in a time old tale of Brains vs Brawn there is a strategy for every situation. Use each brother’s unique skills to better your chances of survival.Use weapons relevant to 19th Century Canada. No machine guns here folks, accuracy means everything. Remember, you are fighting the hordes of hell; regular weapons will not have much effect or any effect on the Werewolves that will attack your homestead. Sang Froid: Tales of Werewolves is another Steam Greenlight successor and due to the community’s votes, Artifice Studios is able to release the game onto Steam so gamers can buy and play it. The game is set to release this month and here are five reasons to be looking forward to this title.

Brute strength and guns are not going to be enough to stop the devilish hordes. A sharp mind and knowledge of traps will keep the dangers of night at bay.

  • The days of non-bank owned shops and city specific capitalism was rampant, Sang-Froid has something nice to show. During the day you run tasks like going into town to visit the church or purchase items. Each store sells items that are relevant to 19th Century Canada, even power ups like glasses of beer that have different effects. Guns stores, General Stores, etc are all in the right time period, so for once, there is something accurate about what weapons the protagonists are using. None of the pseudo futuristic crap games like Call of Duty are capitalizing on.
  • There are two parts to the night in SF:ToW, the strategy portion and the action portion. You cannot let your traps do all of the work. After you place the traps and begin the wave, you take control of one of the O’Carroll brothers to defend one of five specific buildings your enemies are targeting. Despite being in beta, the game flows surprisingly well with the tower defense/action rpg aspect that has been on the rise in the indie gaming community.
