Sandra was born in Arlington Va. in 1964. Her father was an American voice teacher and her mother was a German Opera singer. She would travel and generally grow up on the road. She would sing with her mother from time to time. Eventually, they would move back to the Washington area. Sandra would start off on the stage and then moved to TV. It was from here that she would start her career on the big screen. Sandra is one of the big draws at the box-office these days and will probably be so for quite some time. This is not a best of list but simply a compilation list of some of her movies.
10. Gravity (2013) - An astronaut and a engineer are stranded in space. They must learn to live together and survive. George Clooney also stars.
9. The Heat (2013) - FBI agent wants a promotion. She is sent to Boston to hunt down a drug king-pin. She gets teamed up with another agent and they do not get along. They both want the same things. Also staring Mellissa McCarthy, Marlon Wayans, Michael Rapaport, and Jane Curtain.
8. The Lake House (2006) - A doctor moves back to Chicago. The new owner of her old lake house starts to write her and they carry on writing each other. They soon have an affection for each other. Unfortunately it's hard to carry on a long distance relationship. This one happens to be in two different years. One person is in 2006 and the other in 2004. Cast includes Keanu Reeves, Christopher Plummer, and Dylan Walsh.
7. Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood (2002) - Playwright makes some comments in print that her mother is offended by. They are already estranged and some of her mother's friends kidnap the daughter to get them back together.
6. Miss Congeniality (2000) - An unfeminine FBI agent must go undercover at a Beauty Pageant. They are trying to catch a group of terrorists. Michael Caine, Benjamin Bratt, Candice Bergan, William Shatner, and Ernie Hudson also star.
5. The Blind Side (2009) - An underprivileged young man is adopted by a well to do family in the south. He is a gifted football player. Love and hard work makes all things right. Also staring Tim mcGraw, Quinton Aaron, Kathy Bates.
4. A Time to Kill (1996) - The father of slain girl kills two brothers who bragged about what they did to her. When he goes to trial everybody involved in the case seems to have ulterior motives. Matthew McConaughey, Samuel L. Jackson, Kevin Spacey, Oliver Platt, Donald and Kiefer Sutherland also star in this movie.
3. Speed (1994) - A bombers elevator plan didn't work so he goes after a city bus. If the bus goes 50 mph it will blow up. A cop comes on board to try and get everybody off. Cast includes Keanu Reeves, Dennis Hopper, Jeff Daniels, and Alan Ruck.
2.Wrestling Ernest Hemingway (1993) - Two men meet in the park and a friendship comes together. They often quarrel but it is nothing serious. Until one day one messes with a friend of the other. Movie stars Robert Duvall, Richard Harris, and Shirley Maclaine.
1. Love Potion No. 9 (1992) - A nerdy biochemists gets talked into going to visit a gypsy woman. He comes away with a love potion that he and a friend try out for an experiment. Works well for awhile and then everything goes haywire. Cast includes Tate Donovan, Mary Mara, Anne Bancroft, and Adrian Paul.
Sandra has been tops of her game for some time. She has the talents and looks and will continue to make movies for as long as she wants. She will be a big box office draw for many years to come.
