Forwards - San Jose Sharks welcome Pacific Division rival Phoenix Coyotes

Coming into the 2013-14 NHL season, the weakest position for the San Jose Sharks was already forward. Raffi Torres was added to the injured reserve list that already included Martin Havlat. Adam Burish is still not healthy, either.

Still, the Sharks have a better forward unit than the Phoenix Coyotes, who have no one as good as either Logan Couture or Joe Thornton. Early returns from young Sharks filling in also suggest that the next nine players on the depth chart are probably as good as the top nine fielded by the road team.
