Salt Lake Bruins softball sweeps home opener series against Snow College Badgers

Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) softball celebrated their first homestand of the season with a bang, winning all four games of the series against the Snow College Badgers. The Bruins are now 25-4 overall, 19-1 against Scenic West Athletic Conference (SWAC) opponents.

Sophomore MaCauley Flint picked up two complete-game wins, game one of Friday’s double-header and game one on Saturday. Two freshman pitchers earned wins on Friday and Saturday, Alex Petrolia and Ashley Kay respectively.

Offensively, SLCC racked up a run differential of 27 runs scored, versus 5 runs scored by Snow College over the four-game series. Coach Mary Kay Amicone kept the pressure on the Badgers’ defense with aggressive baserunning; the Bruins stole 15 bases. Lyndsey Healey, Tanisha Andersen and Whitney Holt had one homerun each during the series.
