Jason and Rachima met a few years ago. They were both single parents at the time and loved the Lord very much. When Jason met Rachima for the first time, they shared a common interest, God. He began to minister to her soul as she ministered to his as well. Little did they know that they would soon become soul mates. Months later Jason asked Rachima to marry her. He told her that he knew that she was his wife the first time that they met. She agreed to marry him but this didn't take place until three years later. During the wait many obstacles occurred. At times it seemed as if the couple were drifting more and more apart. There were times when they did separate but God always brought them back together again. Right before their "BIG DAY", Rachima began to study the word "covenant". Not only is a covenant a formal sealed agreement or contract but it has many biblical principals as well. God made a covenant with Noah. He made a promise that He would never destroy the earth again with water as in the day of the flood. He promised to destroy it with fire next time and set a rainbow in the sky to remind Him of it. This is found in Genesis 9: 1-17. God made a covenant with Abraham. He promised to bless his descendants and make them His own special people. Because of this covenant, we are a blessed and prosperous generation; Genesis 12:1-3. God made a Mosaic covenant. This covenant brought blessings for obedience or cursing for disobedience of God's Laws which is known as the ten commandments. This is found in Deuteronomy 11:26-28. A major covenant is the new covenant under the blood of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. God promised to forgive our sins if we except Jesus into our hearts. By this covenant, we now have an opportunity to enjoy eternity in Heaven with the Father. Covenants aren't meant to be broken. God is not a man that He should lie nor a human being that he should change His mind; Numbers 28:19. Marriage is a covenant. Pray for your covenant and declare victory. God is all for covenants, after all He made them. What God has joined together let no man separate Mark 10:9. There may be challenges in your union but there is safety in the realm of a covenant.
