The Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event took place at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington from April 24-27. The event began with the dressage phase held over two days. On Saturday the cross-country endurance test took place and on Sunday the show jumping decided the final winners.

Each day riders took turns claiming first place but when the final rider in show jumping negotiated the course it was William Fox-Pitt who earned the coveted title with his horse Bay My Hero. In second was Lauren Kieffer on Veronica. Third place went to Buck Davidson riding Ballynoe Castle RM. Fourth was Sinead Halpin riding Manoir De Carneville.

In fifth was Marilyn Little on RF Smoke on the Water. Sadly shortly after returning home from Rolex Smoke got cast in his stall and in his attempt to free himself his injuries ultimately forced him to be put down. It was a sad ending on such a short lived but successful career.
