Repent means in the dictionary sorrow or regret. Godly sorrow leads to a changed life. A person repenting and turning toward God has their sins removed. This occurs every time they turn toward God through His Son, Jesus. God remembers them no longer. They are cast or wiped out. This is good news to all who believe. Guilt and shame are also removed. This is the blessing of repentance and salvation in Jesus Christ.
The blessing of the Lord also brings a refreshing or revitalizing. The heavy weight of carrying around sin and unbelief has been lifted by God Himself. Believers have received this good news by faith and are manifesting the fruit of repentance. They have joy being filled with the Holy Spirit and praise God for His awesome goodness.
Challenge: Believer, this good news of repenting and receiving forgiveness is worth sharing with others. Don’t keep it to yourself!
Repentance is required to escape hell and separation from God. Jesus shed blood covers sin and makes the believer right with God. The Holy Spirit is given to carry out the work of being separated from sin.
"Repent... Sins Blotted Out!"
Repentance proceeds the removal of sin. God forgives when a person asks Him. "19 Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,"(Acts 3:19)
Repent and Be Saved!
Repenting and salvation are connected. God has the expectation of turning from wrong/sin and turning His righteousness. God will cleanse and make the believer holy. Jesus is God's righteousness and the only way to salvation.
