Over the weekend, Muslim extremists stormed a mall in Kenya and have been systematically executing non-Muslims. According to this report, if you were white, you were dead. Others were asked to name Mohamed’s mother. If they failed that test, they also ended up on the dead pile.
Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta, who has lost relatives in the attack, reiterated his government's determination to continue fighting the terrorists.
‘We shall not relent on the war on terror.’
He said although this violent attack had succeeded, the Kenyan security forces had ‘neutralized’ many others.
Guaranteed, all the other terrorists attacks were sponsored by religious radicals too. Nothing fires people up like religion. Yet, Islam isn't a violent religion! The Koran says “No one of you is a believer until he desires for his brother what he desires for himself.”
That memo of brotherly love has evidently gotten lost in the anger that hides behind religion pretenses. Islam, and all major religions, are all about unconditional love! Still, as this weekend's violence illustrates, a misguided sense of righteous superiority continues to supersede the core religious message of love and unity.
