One of my favorite treats during this time of year is cooking Aggression Cookies - and I have to say eating the delicious cookies is only part of the treat.
Simple and full of mouthwatering flavor plus the added factor of releasing stored up aggression that has been building for months is one of the main attractions of this dessert.
Simply combine in a large bowl:
- 6 cups rolled oats
- 3 cups packed brown sugar
- 3 cups butter
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking soda
Wash your hands thoroughly and slowly approach the defenseless bowl sitting on the counter . . . then attack! Attack with relish!
Twist and squeeze and turn. Be sure to dig deep into the bottom of the bowl to combine the dry ingredients and smash and beat and squeeze again.
Boss been giving you trouble? Squeeze his/her job listing like you have wanted to for ages.
Relatives demanding too much over the holidays? Smash their petty grievances.
Finances looking dim? Twist and turn the frustration out of the ever present bills!
After thoroughly combining the tasty mixture (be sure to taste-test the raw dough once or twice) roll into one-inch balls and placed on an ungreased cookie sheet. Take a small glass and dip the bottom into some butter and then sugar to lightly flatten the cookies before placing in the oven at 350 degrees. Cook for 10 or 12 minutes until outsides of the cookies are slightly browned. Cool on a rack before serving.
Another alternative after blending the concoction is to grease a casserole dish with butter and spread the dough one-inch thick on the bottom creating Aggression Cookie Bars. Sprinkle sugar over the top. Cook at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes.
Other ingredient ideas could include chocolate chips, coconut or M&Ms. All make a scrumptious addition to a yummy recipe.
After cooling the cookies be sure to sit back with a cup of cold milk, about three or four warm cookies and relax. Aggression tendencies have been soothed for another year!
