This gorgeous ballpark, Fenway Park, is almost like a room compared to some of the giant stadiums all over America. It looks like a parlor to another team's front stoop: those giant concrete and steel boxes we see everywhere. In a disposable, plastic world the Red Sox didn't dispose of Fenway Park. It seems like it will stand forever. It's a place you can go to and feel the roots of Boston and capture the essence of Massachusetts. People come and go and this place was chosen to remain. The World Series is here again in the ballpark that has outlasted other team's ballparks and then some.
The Red Sox are Boston strong and their photos, many of them bearded, reflect the ethnic roots of Boston. The Red Sox were out at Fenway Park today, October 21, 2013, taking batting practice and stretching their arms. The grass has been cut beautifully and the field will look gorgeous for the opening pitch at 8:07 P.M. on October 23, 2013. Jon Lester will start for the Red Sox on Wednesday. Adam Wainwright will start for the Saint Louis Cardinals.
The Cardinals and the Red Sox both won their league championship series in six games: the Cardinals won their game six over the Los Angeles Dodgers (9-0) on October 18 while Boston won their game six over the Detroit Tigers (5-2) on October 19 .
As of Monday night there were more than 3,000 tickets available for game one on Wednesday night. Check out this link to see about getting a ticket to game one.
