Records set at Super Bowl XLVII

Last night’s Super Bowl will go down in memory as the one where the head-coaches from the opposing teams were brothers, to the Ravens domineering the first-half, to the surprise Destiny’s Child reunion during the half-time show, to Baltimore’s Jacoby Jones’ 108 yard kickoff return to start off the 3rd quarter, to the 37-minute Super Dome power outage game delay, followed by the 49ers’ threat to upset the Ravens for the remainder of the second-half.

Super Bowl XLVII ended up being a nail-biter, and a record breaker.

Additionally, Ravens’ quarterback Joe Flacco tied records previously held by Joe Montana and Jurt Warner for throwing 11 postseason touchdown passes. After last night’s win, Flacco’s reportedly looking at a $100 million deal from the Ravens.

Ravens’ Ed Reed tied the records shared by Charlie Waters, Bill Simpson and Ronnie Lott by making 9 interceptions during the postseason. Reportedly, Ed Reed, who’s always threatening to retire, said after the game last night that “I’m not done yet.”
