My daughter's favorite flavor of pie is chocolate chess. It matters not what the holiday is nor what special occasion is being celebrated, chocolate chess pie is always a hit.

My best friend would often make these pies for my daughter, especially when she would accompany me on a road trip to Radford University for a weekend visit. She also just happened to make it for dessert any time our family had the pleasure of dining with her family.

My dearly departed mother was a renowned chocaholic. She believed any day with chocolate in it was a good one. In order to change a good day into a great day, one only had to add ice cream, in her estimation.

  • Mix ingredients thoroughly. Pour into an unbaked pie shell. Bake in a preheated oven at 325* for 40 minutes. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or serve cold with a glass of ice cold milk.
