“He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: ’The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ Then they remembered his words.”(Luke 24:6-8)
Most try their best to listen and hear what someone is saying. Truthfully, one can get distracted and not hear the entire message. Words are even forgotten especially in times of distress. Perhaps, the person communicating will need to repeat the conversation or the important parts to the listener. This is in hopes that the words will remembered.
Jesus’ followers, a couple of women, had forgotten some important words from His message about His death. They needed to be reminded. God sent angels to remind them that Jesus was to rise from the dead. He would be in a tomb only temporarily. The words of the cross and resurrection were repeated to them, and they remembered Jesus’ message.
Challenge: Believer, take steps to remember the message of the Resurrection. Jesus is alive! This is essential to the “Good News” because He overcame death for all who believe.
Stone Rolled Away!
"There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it."(Matthew 28:2)
Jesus is Alive!
"The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. 6 He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay."(Matthew 28:5-6)
"He is Risen!"
"7 Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.”"(Matthew 28:7)
