An area of low pressure west of Ohio will draw up mild air this afternoon. Rain will accompany the mild air this evening before cooler air works back into the area on Monday.
We are starting off with a mix of clouds and sun today. Temperatures are already at 40 degrees as of noon and will head for a high near 50 by late in the afternoon. Unfortunately, rain will overspread the region this evening. Expect showers to move into Columbus after 5 p.m. The rain will last through the evening hours and taper off by morning.
A cold front will sweep across Ohio early Monday morning not allowing for much of a rise in the temperature throughout the day. Highs will be in the upper 40s in the morning with steady or slightly falling temperatures throughout the day. You can expect the thermometer to read 40 degrees by 7 p.m. Winds will also turn quite gusty on Monday with westerly wind gusts between 35 and 40 mph likely.
High pressure will bring a quiet period of weather on Tuesday. Highs will only make it to about 40 degrees under mostly sunny skies. A weak area of low pressure will slide to our south on Wednesday. This could bring some very light snow to southeast Ohio, but no precipitation is currently anticipated in Columbus. A cold front will bring rain and snow showers on Friday and much colder air by next weekend.
