If you are on Facebook, you have no doubt seen the endless posts from people claiming they are experts on being "green," "holistic," "organic" or whatever chic word they want to use to prove their worth in life. The fact-of-the-matter is, they are generally frauds and passing along some of the most useless information on the internet.
One of the latest trends along these lines is cleaning your pots and pans without the chemical cleaners you buy at the market. This is a great idea as the less chemicals we use in our lives, the better we will be. The problem is, what they are posting is fraudulent, useless and lies. Prove it? Okay, we will!
In the slideshow you will see each of the steps we used in plying what one of these Facebook posters said will clean your pans by using only baking soda and peroxide. Nice idea! It doesn't work (as you will see) but it is a nice idea.
The pan we used is an Anolon baking sheet, the very same type sold at most cookware stores and which you may have at home. Its use was only in the home and not commercial.
We have all laughed at the saying "if it's on Facebook, it must be true!" Well... once again, P.T. Barnum is proven right!
