Prince rocks SXSW 2013 stage for legendary concert on final night of show

Prince performed six encores for the fans who stayed away at the SXSW performance. Some fans didn't think it was enough and shouted his name even after he left the stage.

Prince was in the building and performing late into the night on Saturday. Taking the stage for a half a dozen encores, the 54-year-old entertainer gave the crowd of 300 fans a reason to stay up late and party hard. The final night of the 2013 South By Southwest festival, the star didn't hit the stage until after most people's bedtime and he performed until way past two in the morning.

It was a rare occasion for the star to hit the stage and nobody is complaining. According to EW the star had almost two dozen band members on stage and he kept the concert going segment after segment for those individuals who had a dream of seeing the star live again.

No doubt the entertainer was a perfect choice for the finale of the popular conference. With Smashing Pumpkins and Justin Timberlake headlining parties at other venues across town, it was a tough choice for fans to decide who to hear. Obvious after listening to Purple Rain, the choice of the Prince fans was a good decision!

  • During The Glamorous Life, a fan took the stage and wrestled the microphone away from the star to sing a duet. Reportedly it was a rather strange moment on stage, but still a fan sang with the legend. Doubtful she will remember as onlookers reflected she allegedly appeared intoxicated.
