PopAGraph iPhone app a brilliant photo editing experience

Today's smartphones have become more than just a tool, but a way of expressing almost everything that happens through images. The PopAGraph iPhone app launched this Thursday, and featured as one of the top five on iTunes in the Photo-Video category for transforming images.

So what is all the fuss about this layer-filled, masked filter app? Turns out PopAGraph offers a complete set of functions that truly transforms a simple looking image captured on your device into a superb looking photograph.

The app's interface is a bit more robust in terms of traditional functionality. Of course social networking services like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram have cropping or filter options, but is that enough? The answer is naturally no.

As an iPhoneographer-a sort of a pretentious term used to illustrate creating photos with an iPhone-we all like to experiment with new cutting-edge instruments for editing images.

''The app that offers endless combinations of features that will reduce redundancy in style and produce a 3D effect by literally popping your image off the page. You can isolate the “pop” image by resizing the selected area and applying filters separate to the background to add a dramatic contrast,'' according to Flambestudios.com.

Within the app you will find four menu options in the top portion (Undo, Mask, Erase, and Lift) once you selected a specific image. With the iPhone's interactive touchscreen you can select a specific area of the picture and enhance its visual appearance within a few pinches and swipes.

On the right hand side, there is a vertical column menu (Photos, Mask, Filters, Frames, and Share) that takes you on a chronological series of steps to change the photo. You will have access to four free filters (Original, Grayscale, Sepia, and Vivid) from a total of 16 to choose from, which you can decide to pay for the upgrade package.

In addition, do make time to experiment with the ''Adjust frame width'' and ''Adjust frame roundness'' features when inserting the frames.

Below is the following core features of the PopAgraph app :

  • ''Auto "lift" objects inside image. Automatically trim the masked area to the contour of the object''
  • ''Apply different filters to background image and pop objects''
  • ''Undo & redo support on high precision masking & framing tasks''
  • ''Add frames (up to 4) and combine them to form new shapes''
  • ''Adjust frame position, size, border width and color, and corner roundness''
  • ''7 shadow effects (may require "style package" upgrade)''
  • ''Assign backdrop color (may require "style package" upgrade)''

The app is available for a free download with compatible models: iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod Touch (#rd and 4th Generation) and iPad. Must have iOS 6 or later.

If you run into difficulties editing the images check the settings-Help instructions-useful videos. They're a great resource and will facilitate how to navigate from one menu to the next.

Once you have completed your work of art you can choose Twitter, Facebook and Instagram to share photos. Rather than use it for the same old activities on social networking services see if it can do more once you download it.

Its a great app to use for many purposes (personal, business, marketing and advertising). Give it a test drive and check out the premium filters!
