It's been a scorcher out there this week and PJ's has almost every beer in the store on sale and they are flying through it. Hopefully it will cool off soon and we all can begin to enjoy a great fall.
Here are this weekends sale items:
Fess Parker 2011 Riesling
Santa Barbara County Riesling
regular price $13.99/PJ's crazy weekend price $10.99
Clean and crisp, this really takes you by surprise as to the quality of wine for such a great price. Chilled, it's easy to see sipping this on the patio with some cheese or having it with Asian cuisine. Really, really good. Don't think it's overly sweet, it's very well balanced. Here is what The Wine Enthusiast says: "While this wine is clean and vibrant, it tastes off dry. With its honeyed finish and flavors of peach, nectarine and apricot jam, this is one of the most pleasant California Rieslings on the market. It's easy to drink with ham, sausage and slightly sweet Asian fare."
Bulleit Bourbon 10 year
regular price $49.99/PJ'scrazy weekend price $29.99
PJ's has 22 bottles and this is a steal at this price. If you like Bourbon you'd better hurry down. This is Tom Bulleit's selected reserve. Choice Bulleit Bourbon charred white oak barrels were set aside to age for 10 years, resulting in a special expression of Bulleit that provides a rich, deep, incredibly smooth sipping experience.
Goose Island Beer
Three new beers from Goose Island:
Pepe Nero, Matilda & Pere Jacques 765 ml
regular price $9.99 each/PJ's crazy weekend price $7.99 each
Pepe Nero - Brewer's Notes: "With an aroma of roasted chestnuts and a mysteriously dark, mahogany hue, Pepe Nero is a farmhouse ale brewed with black peppercorns. His roasty sweetness melds into a lingering, earthy, black pepper finish that is ideal for pairing with grilled meats and roasted vegetables."
Matilda - Brewer's Notes: "Wild in character, with a slightly fruity aroma and a spicy yeast flavor that is as unique as it is satisfying - Matilda is an intriguing choice for beer and wine lovers alike. Dry and quenching, it's the perfect accompaniment at the dining table or for casually socializing at the bar."
Pere Jacques - Brewer's Notes: "Brewed with loads of malt and Belgian yeast, Pere Jacques is a wonderfully fruity, malty ale. Pere Jacques' complex flavors stand shoulder to shoulder with the Belgian Dubbels enjoyed in the world's finest beer bars. At the dining table it's the perfect alternative to a glass of vintage port."
