Since July, a grant from PetSmart® Charities had made it possible for Greater Jacksonville animal rescue services and First Coast No More Pets Homeless, Inc., of Jacksonville to offer area residents low-cost pays and neuters for their pets.
For example, a $20 co-pay to First Coast No More Homeless Pets gets pets rabies shots with spays and neuters through the SPAY CLAY program.
Residents of Duval and Nassau counties can also schedule low-cost spays and neuters under similar programs.
Free & low-cost neutering is available to Greater Jacksonville residents in participating counties who receive these forms of public assistance:
- Food Stamps
- Medicaid
- Women, Infants & Children (WIC)
- Section 8, Public Housing
- Or residents can show proof of low income to qualify.
FREE Weekly Transportation Available
Once a week, First Coast No More Homeless Pets offers residents who’ve scheduled their pets for surgery free transportation to and from Jacksonville.
To schedule your appointment, call 904-425-0005 and ask for the SPAY program for your county.
About First Coast No More Homeless Pets, Inc.
A 501(c)3 non-profit, First Coast No More Homeless Pets (FCNMHP) is eliminating the euthanization of dogs and cats in our community through free and low-cost spay and neuter programs. Since 2002 FCNHMP facilitated over 95,000 pet sterilizations in the First Coast area.
In April 2009, FCNMHP opened a high-volume, high-quality spay/neuter clinic located in the Joseph A. Strasser Animal Health and Welfare Building to facilitate the increase in scheduled surgeries. The clinic can perform up to 200 daily sterilizations, making it one of the highest volume clinics in the country.
In March 2010, First Coast No More Homeless Pets opened the Jacksonville Pet Food Bank to provide qualified low-income families pet food so that they may keep their pets in this challenging economy. To date, FCNMHP has distributed over 421,099 pounds of free pet food.
