Fashion designer Peter Langner presented his Spring Summer 2015 bridal fashion show collection at The Academy Mansion, located at 2 East 63 Street in Manhattan, on April 12, 2014 during New York Bridal Fashion Week. The collection, titled "Concert in White", is composed of twenty-two bridal gown and eleven evening dresses. The inspiration for the bridal collection was lightness and floral. Mr. Langner sought to layer light material such as organza, linen and crepe silk to create gowns rich in character. He also aimed to use Chantilly and macrame lace in unconventional ways. For his evening collection, the designer concentrated on structure and discretion. As he states "...we wanted to surprise with details and craftsmanship...The proportions we use are always balanced out, so that they enhance the figure, but do not over shadow the personality."
The bridal look that opened the runway show was a sleek and elegant mikado gown named Tilda, with asymmetric cut and draping in the back train. Material is stitched and folded diagonally across the bodice to create very subtle geometric shapes. This effect is a bit more visible and intriguing in the back of the gown with a deep v-shaped back, and asymmetric stylized train. The second to last gown was a real gem named Rania. It is an embroidered lace ball gown with full illusion tulle skirt, and matching bolero. Details on the lace were intricate and gorgeous, while the bolero added extra femininity and romance.
Several of the evening dresses look very nice. The most appealing was a mauve colored folded organza strapless gown with matching cashmere shawl. The dress is constructed in thin strips of organza stacked in parallel rows that create a mesmerizing effect. Peter Langner was born in Hanover, Germany.
