It was the 2nd biggest commercial success of the five nominees ("Brave" takes the cake when it comes to dough) but it is the current front-runner. I think that "Wreck-It Ralph" will win over "Frankenweenie," which seems to have a cult following much like most of Tim Burton's films. "Brave" didn't have the same critical support and the other two nominees, "ParaNorman" and "The Pirates: Band of Misfits" don't seem to be generating much steam ("ParaNorman," for the record, is my personal favorite of the five nominees). The 85th annual Academy Awards are coming this Sunday, Feb 24, 2013 and this week leading up to them is known as "Oscar Week," the official build-up towards movie's most prestigious awards show. So who is going to win at this year's Oscars?

![Oscar buzz in the Live-Action Short category is surrounding a film called "Curfew," which quite frankly for me, was the weakest entry in this year's race. The trippy imagination of "Death of A Shadow" could win, where as the films "Asad" and "Buzkashi Boys" carry with them a bit more social relevance. But above all of the nominees, the most deserving by far is the film, "Henry." It is a powerful story that puts you in the mind of a aged man and it is brutal and breath-taking in what it manages to do in just a short time. "Head Over Heels" was perhaps the most inventive and has a chance at scoring an upset win. "Maggie Simpson in The Longest Daycare" was cute but probably is not going to score any points for being ground-breaking. As far as a challenging visual style, the under two-minute long "Fresh Guacamole" is indeed fresh, but too quick to really cement itself as the front-runner. That leaves Disney's "Paperman," which was shown in theaters in front of "Wreck-It Ralph," and "Adam and Dog," a silent genesis-themed film about, well, Adam and presumably the world's first dog. Both are effective in their creativity and story-telling, but "Adam and Dog" resonated more with me as the better film.
