Keep the dates Aug 24 & 25, this is when the 2-day Rodeo will be at the Rancho Mission Viejo Riding Park at the corner of Ortego Highway and Antonio Parkway. Parking will be available at 30753 La Pata Rd, San Juan Capistrano, for a fee of $5 each day.
The top 30 rodeo contestants, in the 5 different categories, will be coming to San Juan Capistrano for the chance of a lifetime, to compete for a purse totaling over $200,000. The rodeo celebrates the early California history and the cowboys way of life, when competing sometimes just for the fun of it, sometimes to collect money to help others in need was a way of life. Saturday, August 24th gates open at 2 p.m.; opening ceremonies start at 3:45 p.m. and the Rodeo begins at 4 p.m. In the evening at 6 p.m. there will be a concert and dance. On Sunday August 25 gates open at 11:30am when there will ve music until 1p.m., the start of the opening ceremonies at 1:15 p.m, and the Rodeo events starting at 1:30 p.m
Tickets to the Rodeo can be purchased at the locations found here and cost $25 for adults and $10 for kids 4-12 years. Food vendors will be on hand to purchase something to eat.
