Oklahoma State players win Super Bowl rings

Two former Oklahoma State players reached the pinnacle of the NFL Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013 as Baltimore won the Super Bowl. At the same time, two other former Oklahoma State players felt the agony of defeat as members of the San Francisco 49ers.

None of the Oklahoma State alums played a major role, but their accomplishments are still remarkable. The Cowboys had 20 or so athletes on NFL rosters this season, and having four of them reach the Super Bowl is an accomplishment.

Tight end Billy Bajema and defensive tackle Ryan McBean, earned Super Bowl rings as members of the Ravens. Running back Kendall Hunter and defensive back Perrish Cox were members of the 49ers.

The game itself was classic, with the Ravens jumping out to a big lead. Early in the second half there was a 30 minute delay because half the lights went out in the Superdome in New Orleans. When the lights came back on and play resumed, the momentum shifted to the 49ers. San Francisco nearly caught up, but Baltimore regained its composure in the final moments and emerged with the win.
