As reported by Fox4News on February 20, 2013, new data released by the United States government shows that 77 percent of American mothers breastfeed their babies at least once. This number is up two percent in one year, showing that breastfeeding in America is on the rise.
Ask a breastfeeding mom why she chose to breastfeed and chances are likely that one of her answers will have something to do with health. Generally, breastfeeding moms are trying to make the healthiest choices for their babies and themselves. Breastfeeding is a very large contributor to the health of moms and babies, but so are nutrition and exercise. That is why many breastfeeding moms in the Littleton, CO area are turning to the expertise and help of nutritionist Brooke Seiz of Sweet Beginnings Wellness Center.
Seiz began teaching prenatal yoga and nutrition classes at Sweet Beginnings in March of 2011. Since then the demand for her classes has grown and Sweet Beginnings has added a full wellness center. In addition to the classes she teaches, Seiz also does grocery store nutrition tours, one-on-one nutrition counseling, and a Food for Thought Support circle. The support circle is an opportunity for people to ask Seiz their nutrition related questions on a drop in basis.
Seiz does one-on-one nutrition counseling for the following:
• Pregnancy
• Breastfeeding
• Infants
• Children
• Post Partum Nutrition
• Fertility
• PCOS
• Chronic ear infections
After her own struggles with allergic reactions, food cravings, fatigue and digestive dysfunction, Seiz became interested in nutrition. She graduated from the Nutrition Therapy Institute in Denver and completed her internship with Dr. Caitlin O’Connor, a naturopathic doctor. Seiz is also certified in functional blood chemistry analysis.
“After working with a nutritionist myself, I discovered the deep therapeutic nature of food in my own healing. I utilize a science-based, holistic foundation to discover the root cause of your symptoms, and heal the body through food, nutritional supplements, and lifestyle adjustments. I look forward to helping families grow and thrive,” explained Seiz.
Currently, Sweet Beginnings is offering a discount on Yoga classes with Seiz through Plum District, but hurry as this deal ends February 20, 2013.
