Creepy crawly Halloween costumes don’t appeal to everybody. The scary witch with the cobwebs and tombstones on the front porch might not be your first choice if you have young children. So how can you decorate for Halloween in a non-spooky way?
You can still have a little bit of the spooky decorations but in a “cuter” way. There are a lot Casper-like friendly looking ghost decorations out there. Or spiders with googly eyes and smiles. Carving smiling pumpkins instead of scowling pumpkins is another great way to make your Halloween decorations more inviting.
Instead of doing bats, ghosts, and witches, just stick with the colors of Halloween. Decorate with orange ribbon, fall wreaths, and pumpkins. Add a sign that says “Boo” and you everybody will know its Halloween at your house!
Make fun monster and witch decorations with the younger members of the family. Having a hand in making something makes them less scary.
