The 2013 NFL season is here and odds makers have established favorites and, of course, have established not-so-favorites. The top five teams according to odds makers are the Denver Broncos, the San Francisco 49ers, the Seattle Seahawks, the New England Patriots and the Green Bay Packers.
Not in the top ten list are the Oakland Raiders, the Tennesse Titans, the Saint Louis Rams or the New York Jets. On the edge of the top ten faves are the Chicago Bears, the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New York Giants. The Giants appear to be a sleeper to win the Super Bowl for many fans because of Eli Manning and his knack for surprising us all.
I'm a long time Packers fan even though I don't hang out in Green Bay: so I have my first choice to root for. I lived equidistant from Philadelphia and Pittsburgh as a kid so I couldn't decide: and, of course, in the 1960s Philly and Pittsburgh weren't winning any titles or new fans I suppose.
Is your team one of the ten faves to win the Super Bowl next February 2, 2014 in the Meadowlands in East Rutherford, New Jersey? There's a good chance one of these ten teams is worthy of your allegiance or at least is tolerable as a second or third choice. I suppose my second choice is the Steelers and my third fave team is the Eagles. The Seahawks are worthy of my allegiance as well.
The second five--six through ten--according to odds makers are the Atlanta Falcons, the Houston Texans, the New Orleans Saints, the Washington Redskins and the Dallas Cowboys.
