2nd Street Market, 600 E. Second Street in Dayton welcomes their newest vendors this weekend with a grand opening celebration from Thursday, Feb. 7 through Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013. The action kicks off tomorrow with a ribbon cutting at noon and grand opening festivities, samples and special offers from several new vendors.
One extremely fun festivity will be the opportunity to get a perfect pet photo from the Friends of the Humane Society on Saturday. If you visit the Friends of the Humane Society at the east end of the Market on Feb 9 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., you can have Valentine’s Day pet photos taken by professional photographer Sharon Meredith. This event costs $10 and you will get a 4x6 photo; all proceeds benefit the Friends of the Humane Society.
The newest market vendors will have the follow samples and specials this weekend to celebrate the grand opening:
New World Alpaca Textiles, producers of sustainable wool products from local alpacas offers 15% off any purchase Thursday and Friday, or 15% off any three items on Saturday.
The Olive Tree, purveyors of gourmet infused olive oils and balsamic vinegars, offers to take $5 off any two bottles during the grand opening celebration.
Decoy Art Boutique offers handmade jewelry, accessories and other functional artwork made by local artists. During this weekend’s grand opening you can take 10% off all jewelry and 15% off all terrariums.
Vintageliz offers hand-crafted leather jewelry and accessories. Buy two cuffs and get a third leather cuff free during the celebration this weekend.
Maria’s Unique Foods brings Amish and Ohio-made products to the market with a diverse range of goodies including granola, pickled beets in many flavors, flavored syrups, unusual pie fillings and more! Stop by during grand opening weekend and take 20% off all products on Thursday and Friday, and 10% off sales $5 or more on Saturday.
Star Dancer Creamery has antibiotic-free dairy products made locally. The first 50 customers on Thursday will receive a sample of milk served in a champagne flute. The Saturday-only vendor will return on the weekend to wrap up the celebration.
