New Orleans Film Society announces terrific Moonlight Movies series for Fall

This week, the New Orleans Film Society announced the new Fall lineup for their extremely popular Moonlight Movies outdoor screening series. (Check out this year’s previous Spring lineup to see what you might have missed).

What began as a string of collaborations with local organizations a few years ago, Moonlight Movies has turned into a full-fledged, bi-annual outdoor film series complete with a giant inflatable screen and state-of-the-art sound equipment.

The series aims bring the joy of outdoor cinema to more communities in the Greater New Orleans area with low-cost events and a wide array of films. From all-time classics to cult films, this year’s fall lineup follows NOFS’s fun-filled mission: to engage, educate, and inspire through the art of film.

The Fall series opens and closes with a pair of legendary Hollywood classics, while the in-between is sprinkled with a variety of films, many of which are from the 1980s. And like the New Orleans Film Festival, three of the films are also celebrating their 25th anniversary this year and will screen as part of the fest in October.

Times and dates are subject to change, particularly due to weather. Check back for more info. And for more on these screenings, membership info, and other events, please visit the NOFS website.
