Chris Cox, the Vice President Design & Creative for Nautica Brands, presented the Black Sail by Nautica Spring 2014 menwears fashion show, during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Spring 2014 in New York City. The runway show took place at Lincoln Center on September 6. The large collection consisted of fifty looks in which the label's goal was "a collection integrating form, purpose and function…inspired by the modern waterman" and use of "bright colors over a palette of neutral tones".
One of the best looks in the collection is a carbon steel blended hooded anorak, black cotton striped crew neck sweater, chalk cotton tech blend long sleeve performance crew, and yellow rubberized cotton board short. The combination of bright color with neutral tones make this ensemble pop. Another attractive look is a washed navy cotton nylon wave stitch crew-neck sweater with stone washer-nylon cargo pant. It's perfect casual wear for on a Spring day. The sweater has plenty of open stitching, that allows air to flow in and keep one cool.
Nautica provides flare with a red cotton tweed textured hooded pullover, black stretch nylon active short, and midnight stretch nylon twill pleated short. The top would also match well with white or light grey pants. A guy can employ a lot of sex appeal while wearing the black carbon rubberized cotton board short. They look great in or away from the water.
Mr. Cox was successful in combining technical material, with design to create clothes that are both functional and stylish. Click on link to view the entire Nautica Men's Spring 2014 Black Sail collection.
