National Margarita Day offers perfect margarita by Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville

According to the official website of National Margarita Day (yes, there is an official website), National Margarita Day was started to celebrate the margarita. While it is not written how or who started this tradition, every Feb. 22 various establishments offer margaritas in different flavors, on the rocks or frozen.

There is much debate about the invention of the classic margarita thought to be created in 1930s. It is believed that frozen margaritas were invented in 1970s when an inventive bartender converted a soft serve ice cream unit into a frozen margarita machine.

Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville Las Vegas is set to celebrate its namesake holiday and toast to the day. Margaritaville Las Vegas is inviting guests to attend the second annual National Margarita Day Toast. At 5 p.m., a Master of Ceremonies will lead a toast to celebrate the brand’s namesake beverage.
