If you're not a certifiable gadget geek, then the name Mobile World Congress will probably mean nothing to you. But if all the major electronics manufacturers have anything to do with it, all of the brand new smartphones and tablets they introduced there this week will soon be household names like Samsung Galaxy and iPhone.
While some upstart mobile OSes like Firefox and Samsung's new Tizen are trying to forge new paths into the consumer consciousness, Android is still king when it comes to the non-iOS mobile products. That's why some well-known names like Sony and HP are attempting to challenge the aforementioned Samsung for first place in the Android race. Along with the big names, Taiwanese companies like Huawei and ASUS are presented some innovative Android phone and tablets as well, with screen sizes, resolutions, and processing power that rival the top-rated products from market leader Samsung.
That's not to say the Korean powerhouse is sat on the sidelines during this year's congress. Samsung showcased its new "Galaxy Note" product there, which by all accounts was pretty impressive. If you are in market for an Android Smartphone or Tablet, then you may want to wait for one of these new products coming down the pipe. Here's a list of the must-see products from this years Mobile World Congress.
