Much ado about nothing: Stars we wish would disappear

Fame is a strange and fickle creature. For every ten-thousand gifted musicians, writers or actors whose talent never reaches beyond their local theater or coffee shop, there’s a reality star or heiress who has become a household name without a discernible ounce of talent.

Does being curvaceous, self-destructive or outspokenly offensive really warrant the amount of attention we seem to pay these public figures? The answer is obvious, and yet the world still can’t seem to get enough of what Kim Kardashian wore last Tuesday, who Taylor Swift is dating and what misogynistic statement Rush Limbaugh has just made.

Anyone who has ever dealt with children (or dogs for that matter) knows that rewarding negative behavior does nothing but encourage it. If it works with grocery store temper-tantrums and barking fits, perhaps, if we all quit tuning into these celebrities’ poor antics, we would encourage them to disappear into to their mansions and give us all a break.

We’ve lost count of how many headline-making bad choices Lindsay Lohan has made in the past few years, but rumor has it, she is in court again refusing plea bargains and outside help. In honor of Liloh’s perpetually poor decision making, Chris Brown’s anger management issues and Ke$ha’s mind numbingly shallow lyrics, we’ve compiled a list of the celebrities we wish would just go away.

Let's all band together and agree to stop paying attention to the people on the list that follows.
