Dogs and cats rained on the Jacob Javitts Center this weekend in New York:. There were cats and dogs on display...and some dogs showed some of their retrieval skills in the first day of the 'Meet the Breeds' event. This American Kennel Club event showed dogs and cats to animal fans at the two-day event in New York City at the Jacob Javits Center.
'Meet the Breeds'...September 28-29, 2013
The AKC keeps a list of breeds--there are other groups that maintain a list of breeds as well--which are as the name implies American breeds. In Europe, in contrast, there are recognized breeds that aren't recognized here.
210 booths were set up at the Jacob Javits Center this weekend at the two-day event where attendees could see and touch dogs and cats including puppies and kittens. Dog experts were at each booth to answer questions about each dog breed. Nutrition and health experts were also on hand. Dogs were shown displaying skills in simulated hunting exercises and also in fun stuff like catching frisbees. There were other games that dogs participated in. Numerous vendors were also set up to sell cat and dog products of all kinds.
Check out some of the photos that I collected from day one of this AKC event in New York City.
