Mindy McCready's tragic suicide this past weekend has shocked the nation. Before taking her own life, new reports say she also shot and killed her dog as well. McCready's death comes just over a month after the father of her youngest child took his own life in the same manner.
McCready had a long road of rehab visits under her belt, battling with an addiction to alcohol and prescription drugs. She appeared on the third season of Celebrity Rehab, a reality series hosted by Dr. Drew Pinsky, which was supposed to help stars deal with their addictions.
Unfortunately, rehab doesn't always work for celebrities. McCready is the fifth star who has died following an appearance on the VH1 show. Mike Starr of Alice in Chains fame, former Grease star Jeff Conaway, Joey Kovar from The Real World and Rodney King all participated in the show and have died.
