Salsa singer Marc Anthony and his band DBB (Da Baddest Band) played to a sold out crowd yesterday in Miami, Fla.
It was the start of Marc Anthony's Vivir Mi Vida tour in the U.S. named after his first release single from his long awaited new album "Marc Anthony 3.0" giving salsa music more strength and a comeback into the top Latin music charts. The single "Vivir Mi Vida" has maintained its number one position on Billboard Latin Music charts for 16 weeks the same time frame it was released and his album has gone platinum just in time for the U.S. tour. It is no surprise the first two concerts were sold out at the American Airlines Arena making it Marc's 18th sold out concert at the arena.
The late start concert was so worth the wait for Marc's return to perform solo. But just before the concert started, it was up to Joey Vega to warm up the audience which he did with no problem.
The arena vibe was very intense from the minute Marc Anthony was seen on the huge screen before setting foot on stage to the minute he disappeared - the chants, applause, the singing, the music, the love, the interaction and union was unbelievable. The arena floors even shook as if the seats were to collapse. Marc Anthony as thin as he is still holds out those notes especially during his song that started it all for him "Hasta Que Te Conocí". His dancing, running back and forth - his energy is so intense.
He was witty too. "Okay in Spanish it is la, la la la, la and in English it is la, la la la, la," was Marc Anthony's choir lesson as he sang "Mi Gente".
"I'm home," said Marc Anthony as he sang, danced, flirted with his fans for almost two hours. So amazed at the downpour of love, he knelt to kiss the arena's floor. Marc included in his repertoire songs from his 20 plus years recording hits - "Que Precio Tiene El Cielo", "Hasta Ayer", "Valio la Pena", "Te Conozco Bien", "Y Hubo Alguien", "Y Como Es El" and recent duos with special guest singers Tito "El Bambino" - "Por qué les Mientes" and Natalia Jimenez - "Recuérdame". Although the concert fell short of new songs from his new album, there is no doubt the concert couldn't have ended in a better way with Marc Anthony's 2013 hit single "Vivir Mi Vida."
Next tour concert stop is at the Amway Center in Orlando, Fla. on Sunday.
