It was Marc Anthony's third concert of his Vivir Mi Vida tour in the U.S. that started in Florida with two sold out concerts in Miami. Marc Anthony never failed to deliver from the moment he was visible on top of the first stage to the last note he sang - an adrenaline rush for everyone present from the youngest to the oldest. Mariah from Tampa, Fla. of four years of age adores Marc Anthony. No matter how far she was sitting, she was happy to be there with her mom Amanda Mastrapa who won the tickets at a local radio station. Like mother and daughter their favorite song is "Vivir Mi Vida".
Marc's band which fans have called Da Baddest Band (DBB) never fail to set the momentum for the salsa sensation singer. Once the band was seen on stage, the euphoria began for almost two hours of the concert. Marc gazed at the entire venue just before belting out the first tune to one of his classic hits "Y Hubo Alguien". He graced the stage in a black suit and white unbuttoned dress shirt dancing all around making sure to cover every angle of the stage - running, blowing kisses, interacting in English and Spanish. Although the set-list was mostly his classic hits, Marc only sang his first new single release hit, "Vivir Mi Vida," from his new CD. It left many wondering especially diehard fans why Marc didn't include more songs from his latest "Marc Anthony 3.0" album that just went platinum.
Not sure if the duo with his Puerto Rican singing friend Tito 'El Bambino' would fall under the realm of new songs as it is Tito's song. He joined Marc Anthony in Orlando to perform the merengue hit "Por qué les Mientes". Another was a beautiful ballad Marc sang alone, "Recuérdame", a duet with Natalia Jimenez who had joined him both nights in Miami. "Vivir lo Nuestro", "Hasta Que te Conocí", "Que Precio Tiene el Cielo", "Valio la Pena", "Te Conozco Bien", "Mi Gente" were a few other classic hits sung. The outpour of love overwhelmed Marc bringing tears to his eyes - he kissed the floor in gratitude and spread his blessings to all present.
"You want more? Well check it out," Marc commented and continued on with what he has blessed to do. Yes he gave more. Each band member and the back-up singers gave their all. There was so much energy, peace and love present. It was a huge party no matter what nationality you were and worries you had. Couples found somewhere to dance, many danced at their seats. Brunilda Santoni who is 72 was a Maestro Cares volunteer for Marc's foundation at the three Florida concerts. Although she was exhausted, Brunilda had the energy to continue dancing along with her favorite salsa singer. She had the experience of her lifetime as a volunteer and seeing Marc Anthony in concert just before driving back to Tampa with her daughter.
It seemed the entire venue was waiting for the finale song that has become a hymn and inspirational song since its release this past April. It's also the top song among many Latin music charts and radio stations. As soon as the first few beats of "Vivir Mi Vida" were played, the fans started singing and clapping along with Marc. The concert ended the same way it started - Marc on top of the stage as he was lowered bidding farewell with one last kiss for the evening.
And one last thing, remember Marc Anthony doesn't want you to sit during his salsa concert - have fun, sing along, dance, scream as the message Marc Anthony portrays in "Vivir Mi Vida" (Live my life) - live life its only one, have fun!
