Established in the late 1800s, Old Town Temecula boasts numerous enticements for the solo (or group) traveler, including theater, olive oil tastings, independent restaurants, antiquing, and, of course, wine. And the visuals aren’t bad, either!
Approximately two hours southeast of Los Angeles (longer if you hit the dreaded traffic on the I-5 on your return), Old Town Temecula can be done as a day trip, but there’s so much to see, do and taste, that you might want to consider it for a weekend escape. Plus, the weekends often feature fabulous live music, terrific theatrical performances and specialty wine tastings that you will not want to miss. Don’t worry, even though it looks like an old western town, Old Town Temecula has all the modern amenities and is a WiFi zone. So, if you are feeling guilty about sneaking out of work, you can bring your laptop and get that report done in-between tastings.
