The Children's Museum Tucson is celebrating literacy with activities all September and ending the month with a Love of Literacy Festival on Saturday, September 28, 2013. The festival runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and the museum will also have free admission that day. The activities at the festival include storybook costume characters and hands on activities.
Entertainment at the Love of Literacy Festival will include two performances of Stories that Soar! (11 a.m. and 1 p.m.). There will also be a special screening of the upcoming new PBS Kids show called Peg + Cat.
About the Children's Museum of Tucson: The regular school year hours for the Tucson Children's Museum are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. During the summer the museum is also open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Mondays. The museum is closed on Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Regular admission is free for ages up to 12 months, $6 for ages 1 to 18 and seniors, and $8 for adults.
