Looking for unique Valentine’s sweets? Want to buy local and support the Dayton economy? Look no farther than the 2nd Street Market in Dayton and Liberty Market in Kettering! Both have locally made sweet treats for Valentine’s Day!
Liberty Market has organic sweets starting as low as $2.25 for a dark chocolate truffle: the Youngevity truffles are non-GMO, gluten-free and loaded with anti-oxidants. For the coconut fans out there, Liberty Market has Joyfully Almond bars, made with shredded coconut, egg whites, almond flour, cane juice sugar, cacao chips, almonds and Himalayan salt. A bargain at only $4 for a generous bar. Shop Liberty Market Saturdays 9-4 and Monday through Thursday 4-8; Liberty is located at the northwest corner of Woodman Drive and Patterson Road in Kettering.
2nd Street Market vendors with Valentine sweets include Azra’s, Kolb's, Sweet Nothings, and Thistle. Just one of the huge cream puffs from Azra’s will serve two people generously, and Azra’s uses real whipped cream filling in their cream puffs!
Kolb’s has a variety of baked goods, including their light, flaky, fruit-topped pastries. Sweet Nothings has fabulous cakes and many flavors of toffees, and Thistle has all sorts of gourmet baked goods, including vegan offerings.
These are but a few of the many vendors at the market with delicious sweets to offer for dessert, or for brunch, or even for a quick snack with a hot cup of tea or cocoa. 2nd Street Market is open Thursdays and Fridays from 11 to 3 and Saturdays from 8 to 3.
