Lingerie Fashion Week held its official closing party and runway show on Saturday February 22, 2014, in Canoe Studios at 601 West 26th Street in New York City. The event brought to a close a three-day fashion event that showcased established as well as up and coming lingerie, loungewear, sleepwear, shapewear, hosiery/legwear, lingerie solutions and lingerie accessory brands.
The fashion show featured 36 looks among the labels: Affinitas & Parfait, BlackBird Underpinnings, BRADELIS NEW YORK, Clare Bare, FYI by Dani Read, Kix’ies Thigh Highs, LAYNEAU COLLECTION, Lola Haze, NaïS, Shibue Couture, and Nevaeh Intimates. Outfits were sexy, pretty, naughty and soft are some of the words that describe the outfits that made their way down the runway.
There was a dazzling half-time step dancing performance by three members of the organization Art of Stepping or AOS. The step team performed in hosiery by Kix’ies Thigh Highs. AOS is an organization the is building upon a nationwide K-12 curriculum based after-school program that teaches step through mathematical formulas.
The closing show was the only event open to the general public, at this otherwise industry only fashion series. Tickets to the show were sold, with 15% of all sales were slated to go to benefit the Fall Winter 2014 non-profit partner Safe Horizon. Safe Horizon is an organization that helps victims of crime and abuse in the United States. Their stated mission is to provide support, prevent violence and promote justice for victims of crime and abuse, their families and communities.
