With a title as mundane as its content, Disney's "Limited Time Magic" campaign announced, to little fanfare, a week of meet-and-greets with characters uncommon to Disneyland park. Meanwhile Walt Disney World will showcase the Dapper Dans quartet, an everyday presence at the Magic Kingdom, temporarily performing a medley of modern boy band hits in addition to turn of the century standards.
Both of these "Limited Time" promotions, though, are in fact retreads of earlier events; An unfortunately persistent problem with this year's marketing campaign. The premise of the campaign, short-lived special events and merchandise, has so far received a lukewarm reception from fans and the general public. Following a string of similarly lackluster marketing efforts over the years, Limited Time Magic has managed at least a few pleasant surprises during its mostly forgettable run.
