Lancaster ArtWalk is finally here! Over 30 different galleries and venues are opening their doors this weekend for art lovers of all genres. Many of the exhibiting artists will be present to chat with as well. Today the event runs 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and it concludes tomorrow noon to 4 p.m.
Some venues will offer interactive projects this weekend. For example, the Friendship Heart Gallery will create a public collaboration piece this weekend with attendees participating.
Remember to use the hashtag #lancartwalk when uploading your thoughts and photos on social media this weekend. Grab your comfy walking shoes and perhaps an umbrella for the the possible afternoon showers and enjoy a self guided tour.
Annex 24 Gallery is holding an art warehouse sale. The Community Room on King will feature art work from Conestoga Valley High School students. The Pennsylvania College of Art & Design will showcase the various artwork of it s graduating seniors. The exhibit includes several mediums. The Ware Center will showcase the art work of students in the School District of Lancaster.
Featured artists include: Marlin Bert, Freiman Stoltzfus, Cindy Slosser, Zach Zecha, Shane Smith, Sean Hildach, Charles and Mariko Swisher, Natalie Frigo, Jude Sharp, Jerome Hershey, Julia Swartz, Abby Rudisill, Liz Hess, Libby Modern, Melissa Bryant, Georganna Lanssen.
Several galleries will hold different demonstrations throughout the weekend. Among them are: knitting and oil painting demonstrations at Commonwealth on Queen. Various Pennsylvaina Craft Guild members will offer demonstrations at the guild store at the Center of American Craft. Isadore Gallery will demonstrate painting and ceramics.
